Tales of a Twister
Man oh man, this has been on my mind! It just seems surreal to have something so crazy as a TORNADO happen 2 miles away, I can't imagine how I'd feel if we were in it. Thursday, the day after the storm, E got up early and went with a group of students and members of the ward and worked all day helping people move things from their homes that were salvageable.
I took a drive around the neighborhoods to see what happened, and it is just something else to see it in person. It's crazy, seeing into someones home, seeing their stairs up to the second level. One thing that surprised me, there was insulation everywhere. It covers the homes, cars, grass...When I stopped at one of the hit homes and got out to talk to some friends, a lady came up with two ripped wedding photos asking if we recognized the bride or groom, so sad.
Here are some pictures of the event. The first three photographs I didn't take. It started at a dealership, and then ripped through two communities.
Signing off, Tornadoville

A tornado
A twister hit Kville last night. The weather was getting scary outside, it was actually eerily quiet. I was nursing Ollie when my neighbor knocked on my door and said, "Ernesto's been trying to call you, he wants you to go down to the school." I knew it would be serious if he wanted me there. Within minutes we were in the car, and it was raining like in the movies. Everyone around us was running to their cars, my heart was beating like crazy. I called E on the way, and he told me that tornadoes had hit in a town north of us and were on their way to us. I felt so much better when E came to the car, scooped up the boys and we were inside.
We stayed in a basement hallway of the school for a little while with many other students and families. Turns out, several homes of our friends and E's classmates were hit just two miles north of us. Some of their homes are destroyed. I felt so uneasy the rest of the night, I didn't put Sawyer down forever because I wanted him by me.

P-A-R-K park park park!
We've been taking a lot of walks lately, sometimes just around, and sometimes to play somewhere. We took a walk to a nearby park, and the whole way there, the whole time we played, and the way back he never took off his sunglasses or hat. Funny boy. He is loving bugs and worms lately...lucky me.It had been raining for a few days, so one clear day I had the genius idea of going to a park, not thinking that it would obviously be muddy. We got soooo messy!!! There was seriously a 5 ft perimeter of mud around the playground.
This weekend was a 3 day for the students. We took Sawyer to see Monsters v Aliens and he loved it....for 30 minutes. It was 3D, and he was reaching for some of the stuff in the picture below, so cute!
